David Shrigley is a Brighton and Devon-based artist known for his sharp-witted drawings, deadpan humour, and playful storytelling. His work spans drawing, sculpture, installation, animation, photography, and music, often exploring the absurdities of everyday life with a deceptively simple style.

A Turner Prize nominee in 2013, Shrigley has exhibited widely, including his major retrospective Brain Activity at London’s Hayward Gallery. His monumental sculpture Really Good was unveiled on Trafalgar Square’s Fourth Plinth in 2016 before travelling to Melbourne in 2023. His work extends beyond traditional gallery spaces, from transforming London’s sketch restaurant to international touring exhibitions. Awarded an OBE in 2020, Shrigley continues to push boundaries with his distinctive mix of humour, satire, and conceptual play.
