Danny Minnick is a Neo-Expressionist painter, professional skateboarder, filmmaker, and actor known for his bold, energetic style. Born in Seattle and based between Los Angeles and New York, he brings a raw, instinctive approach to his large-scale canvases. His signature figure, Character—a skeleton with a plus sign on its torso—symbolizes the positive energy he aims to spread worldwide.
Minnick’s work can be seen globally, from Miami’s Wynwood to Banksy’s Walled Off Hotel in the West Bank. In 2017, he painted an acclaimed response to Banksy’s Portrait of Basquiat at London’s Barbican, now permanently preserved. His creative career extends beyond painting—he’s a renowned skateboard cinematographer, having directed and self-distributed five feature-length skate films, and has extensive acting and filmmaking credits, including work with Larry Clark and Chris Fisher.
Minnick’s art and life are deeply intertwined, driven by a relentless passion for movement, expression, and storytelling.
